It was terrific! The hotel was lovely and the staff was so helpful and kind. The tours at the Louvre and other museums were fantastic. My least favorite part was our guide Maria who could be rude and snappy at times to the group.

My Week in Paris tour was everything I hoped it would be. The hotel was perfect, including the perfect location. The staff were friendly, gracious and helpful. Our guide, Marie, was wonderful, and the group was fun, interesting and friendly. Marie quickly introduced us to the essentials of getting around in Paris, and expertly and kindly kept us on schedule with our many excursions. The "subject matter" expert guides at Marais, the Louvre, Orsay Museum and Versailles were incredible.

The Best of Paris is truly that. We went to the major museums and had time to visit others (ie. the Orangerie. It was good to learn to navigate3 the metro, however, I felt too much time was spent underground! Paris needs to be seen while walking. A little more centrally placed hotel would be a good option.

A positive "wow" for me was visiting (on my own) the cafe where Sartre wrote and Descartes tomb (I am an academic; you could organize a tour of such places in Paris for interested people; saw funky Shakespeare Book Company where ex-pat literary figures hung out too.)"

Despite the occasional wet weather, it was a memorable experience. I feel like I got to know Paris as well as one can during a short one week visit--and laid the ground for future visits with confidence and focus. Nico was such a delightful guide--just getting to know him was a real pleasure. He was born to be a guide! And of course meeting others on the tour was a great experience too.

"Magnifique" is my overall impression of the tour experience. From the office staff available to answer questions, the hotel and staff, the tour guide, Rolinka, the food was amazing and prepared by 5 star chefs, the local guides that were masterful at sharing interesting information in professional ways even in crowded locations. The hotel staff were very professional, informative and gracious in every way possible. What could be better than this trip to Paris?

"If I have to select one WOW moment it would be the Seine River Cruise and being able to see the Eiffel Tower at night lit and then sparkle. Before we boarded for the cruise it had been raining, but it stopped for the rest of the evening. I have been to Paris before but was not able to see the Eiffel Tower at night. There is something magical about white lights on the Eiffel Tower!"

It was a great tour! There is so much to see and do and our tour guide,Erlinka did a fabulous job! Highlights were seeing the Paris neighborhoods, the museums, Montmarte, Versailles, Eiffel Tower, Norte Dame and the Seine River Cruise. Learning how to get around and navigating the Metro was easy thanks to Erlinka.

Several years ago we went on the trip that included Paris and northern France. We spent three days in Paris and always wanted to return to spend more in the city. We were very pleased with this tour. Our tour guide, Guillaume, was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The tour was well organized with a good balance between planned activities and free time to explore. It was a whirlwind week. We saw most of what we wanted to see. It is always good to have a reason to return to Paris.

"Jean- Walking by Notre Dame and seeing how much has been done to restore this beautiful iconic church by combining modern technology with medieval materials and techniques. On our earlier trip we visited Guedelon and leaned about medieval castle construction. Bruce- Visiting the Orsay and being shown Monet’s painting The Magpie. The artist captured an early winter morning where the snow clings to the trees and there is a shimmer in the air. I have seen days like that."

The main guide Danielle was very good at teaching us how to use the subway/metro and city buses and maps to be able to find desired destinations and back to home hotel confidently as well as being knowledgeable about the entire culture and history of Paris. She had a great blend of sincerity and humor. Local guides were very knowledgeable. The hotel staff and accommodations were wonderful. The group dynamics were great. Loved my time there.

This was our eighth Rick Steves tour--and one of the best. Our guide was outstanding (knowledgeable, engaging, funny, and with an acute sense of Paris...it's vibe, neighborhoods, secret treasures and more.) The itinerary was designed to introduce us to the most notable attractions of Paris, plus many surprises. Also gave us the right amount of time and guidance to see many things on our own.

"The tour of Versailles. It's a magnificent palace, of course, but I never appreciated the size and amount of space it encompassed. After a tour of the palace by an outstanding local guide we were able to explore the grounds on our own. Truly magnificent!"

It involved a lot of walking, which was interesting but tiring. The metro was extremely crowded, and we tended to be using it during the rush hour. The visit to the Louvre was chaotic, due to having to be shuffled from one line to another, in the rain, for nearly an hour before we eventually entered, in spite of having timed tickets.

Paris is a beautiful city - even in the rain. Lots of people, very busy, magnificent architecture and history. So full of culture. The French are very formal and expect some level of formality from tourists. Lots of sites crammed into 5 full days of touring. Maybe 6 or 7 full days would make it a less hectic pace. We found the French people kind and helpful, contrary to the stereotype. Our guide, Arnaud, was great!!

As rated it was outstanding. Our tour guide, Arnaud, was like a mother hen. He explained, trained and watched over us through out the tour making sure we had an excellent experience. The restaurants chosen for our meals and the daily tours themselves were well chosen and enjoyable. The only tour that was not as enjoyable as we would have liked was the Louvre. We also appreciated the free time to explore on our on. And last, but not least, was the hotel chosen was an excellent choice.

Our guide, Arnaud, was outstanding. His knowledge of Paris and French history was phenomenal. He was appropriately witty and humorous. The hotel and its staff were fantastic. They were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. They helped to secure medical attention on an expedited basis(within hours of our request for assistance - not an emergency). I would stay at that hotel again.

We hit all the tourist spots that makes Paris such a popular destination , with plenty of free time to explore on our own. With the Navigo that was provided, and the excellent tutorial on its use provided by our guide, Arnaud, we felt very confident exploring on our own.

The provided breakfast at our hotel was average at best, and below the standard I've had on other Rick Steves Tours, as well was with breakfasts provided on non-RS tours I've been on. It's hared to make consistently runny scrambled eggs each day, but they managed. My biggest complaint, and from an informal survey i took from our group, the tour of the Louvre was very disappointing. The tours were great during our 5 days there in the older part of Paris. The Hotel and staff there were very good to us. But at my age and some of my health issues, wish that we would have taken more transportation to get closer to the area's that were most Important to see. Didn't like metro much at all. But liked the buses and trains. We seemed to have better food our time in Italy then in Paris. But Claire our main tour guide and the art tour guides we had were great. Romantic boat ride.

Our guide, Rolinka, is charming, fun, and funny, as well as being very knowledgeable about Paris and the sites we visited. From the very first meal we had together, to learning how to use the Metro system, Rolinka made our time together fun and interesting. I loved our stroll down Rue Cler, the neighborhood tours, and the evening boat ride on the Seine. We had lovely cultural moments together with mini language lessons. She was very helpful with suggestions and guidance.

Rolinka our tour leader gave us tips on French etiquette to always say Bonjour and Merci. She taught us how to read and take the subway system so I could do it by myself. The tour included most of the “must see” areas of Paris for my first time being travelling to Paris. The local tour guides were very good and presented different information. The group dinners were great because you got to know your fellow travelers. It was organized, efficient, and memorable!

The hotel and staff were delightful. The activities were varied, and the main guide as well as the supplementary guides were very informative. The dinner options were limited for vegetarians, but that's probably because of French cuisine, rather than anything that reflects on the tour. Breakfast at the hotel was great, and there were many fine bakeries nearby for lunch.

Marie was our guide! Our group decided we will hate waking up without Marie’s positive energy filling our day with fun facts and exciting things to see! She has probably given this tour a gazillion times but she keeps it fresh and keeps us excited about every days experiences! It can’t be easy getting 20 plus people on and off metros and aboard tour boats and buses, but she is an expert! I’m sure all guides are great, but we all felt particularly blessed to have Marie!

Jennifer was an outstanding tour guide. She was caring, fun, and informative. The guest guides were wonderful as well. I appreciated the walking tours each day in areas that were not full of tourists. For the museums and other sites that were packed with tourists, the tour made it bearable for us. I especially appreciated the Rick Steves audio tour of the Louvre as we did not have a guide in there. The tour exceeded my expectations.

Tre bien! This was our 6th RS tour, and like the others, had good fellow travelers, and a good combo of guided activities and free time. Our guide Jennifer did a great job of keeping things moving, while adding insight and humor to the tour. And our local guides' depth of knowledge, and willingness to share it, made for outstanding visits to Montmartre, Musee de Orsay and Versailles. And the dusk/evening cruise on the Seine with the lights of Paris and the Eiffel Tower was icing on the cake.

Montmartre was an unexpected gem for me. And our guide did a great job of giving us a sense of the artistic hotbed it was. And the Seine cruise was great. And let's not forget the metro. My wife and I said on several occasions, "Wow, which train do we get on?" And, "Wow, which stop do we get off at?" Great trip!"

Jerome did an excellent job teaching us how to comfortably navigate Paris despite the Olympics hoopla. We enjoyed all of the little extras..wine tasting, cookies while out walking and the croissants and cafes at the Marie Antoinette bakery. The Seine cruise at night was perfect since we got to see the Eiffel tower twinkle twice while we were onboard the ship.

The Paris tour was extensive and challenging! We saw so much of Paris and had a wonderful guide, Rolinka. She was the best! Our special guide, Elizabeth, was outstanding. But, we were on the go constantly with a lot of walking, learning how to use Metro and the train system and finding our way back to the hotel each day. But, we managed to keep up with the group and to not get lost! It was a busy time in Paris with the Olympics starting soon but it was fun to see some of those sites, too.

Paris's is beautiful. We were there about 2 weeks before the Olympics and some things like the Champs de Mars and part of the Tuileries Gardens were not accessible, but overall we got a good feel for the city and its neighborhoods.

It was perfect. The hotel was wonderful... especially the location. The education that Rolinka gave us in art and history, safety and life... she is perfection. Each day was balanced to allow us learning time together and exploration time alone. It was the perfect ratio.

Per usual, this tour was an excellent mixture of guided time and time on our own to pursue our own activities -- as well as a few meals together with the rest independent. The sites included were real highlights. The quality of all guides was excellent.

Loved Paris! The selection of activities was a good mix of walking tours, museums, restaurants, and suggestions of what to do in our spare time. Our tour guide Rolinka was awesome! She gave great lessons on how to use the Paris transportation system, and she was such a fun guide. You could tell how much she loved sharing the city. Everyone on the tour was so nice, the hotel close to the Tour Eiffel we stayed at was perfect, and staff super helpful. Our local guides were awesome and informative.

"My favorite “WOW” moment was the garden at Versailles. I design gardens for a living, so seeing these amazing gardens in person about moved me to tears. Thinking of how much work went into creating them, maintaining them, and all the history. I walked over 10 miles that day, and my two favorite spots were The Queen’s Hamlet and the Ballroom Grove. Beyond amazing and totally inspiring. I must go back! "

I really enjoyed the tour. This is the first tour I've done with any company. I liked how the tour provided context to the places we toured. It was more than just seeing stuff. We got to learn about the history of the places we went. The tour hotel was great. I think we had a great tour group. The tour offered a fabulous introduction to Paris, and Rolinka, our tour guide, was entertaining, personable, and very knowledgeable. Our accommodations at Hotel de Londres Eiffel were also excellent, and the staff could not have been more helpful. I discovered, though, that I would probably do better on a self-guided tour where we had more autonomy, so there may be a Rick Steves self-guided tour in our future. But that's on me, and doesn't reflect on the tour we just completed.

C'est bon all the way! We've been Rick Steves fans for years, but discovering Paris with an amazing guide like Arnaud made the experience second to none. He was both fun and knowledgeable, but he also kept our group on schedule – allowing us to sink our teeth into so much of this magical city. We loved everything about the tour. The schedule was great in that it allowed us the time to do the extra things we wanted. Our guide,Rolinka, was amazing. "Sainte-Chapelle -- you have to walk up a dark, narrow, winding staircase, your head is pointed down so you don't loose your step. Your last step takes you into the chapel and you lift your head up. Also, a tip -- consider taking a pair of opera glasses/binoculars to see the uppermost panels"

Loved Paris. I debated whether to plan this on my own or join the tour and I was glad I did. Nico showed us how to navigate public transportation which would not have been easy if you don't speak French. It was also nice that entry to all the major sights was included. My wife and I enjoyed the tour very much. The tour was superbly organized starting with the hotel which was well located in the heart of Paris. The tour facilitator/guide, Gregoire, was excellent; friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. We particularly appreciated his practical tips and dinners.The excursions were well done; all four guides were very good (particularly the guides for Orsay Museum and the Marais District. It was fun getting to know the other people on the tour. Lots of walking.

"At the Musée d’Orsay, the first painting the guide focused on was very dramatic. At first, I didn’t know what I was looking at. When you look closely at upper left of the painting, you see Dante and Virgil. It’s Dante’s Inferno! Her explanation opened up my eyes to appreciate the paintings I saw at the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie later that day."

It was our first RST and we had a wonderful experience. The tour group size of 24 was perfect, and our tour guide Rolinka was outstanding. A perfect balance of guiding and letting us be independent. The tours were great with morning touring and independently exploring on our own in the afternoon. The 1 week travel pass which included travelling on the buses and metro was perfect.

We decided to join a Rick Steves tour because we wanted our trip to Paris to be “figured out” by experienced experts. We wanted the structure provided by a guide with a plan, and we wanted some time on our own to wander. You exceeded our expectations. The fabulous group of fellow travelers on our tour truly enhanced our experience. The guides Iris and Elisabeth were fantastic, so knowledgeable.Rolinka, our guide, made it all happen. She was as amazing as Paris itself….well, almost as amazing. :)

Well rounded tour with the “normal” highlights. I would rate this tour more active than the RS site does. The other RS tours I have done involve a bus with more “downtime” to rest/recover from busy city days. Lots and lots of stairs and walking. More active than the Switzerland tour and Heart of Italy.

I have been to Paris a couple of times before but seeing my brother and my son who were here for the first time - fall in love with one of my favorite cities was delightful. Certainly the tour hits all the spots one should see in Paris, but our guide Veronique helped us to really understand Parisian culture and history. She clearly understands adult learning styles and that we all came from various backgrounds and experiences. She helped us to be able to comfortably navigate the city in our free time, both on the metro and in restaurants. Her added touches (cocktail hour, macrons) and enthusiasm for Paris enhanced the experience!

Lori and I felt so prepared thanks to her information on the metro and buses etc. that after only a couple of days we felt like we had lived in Paris for months. We learned to use the busses or metro system. We went exploring on our own for museums and other sites. We spent an evening walking down the Champs Eleysees looking at the lights.

All the adjectives people use to describe Paris are so true - A Movable Feast, The City of Lights are just two and Rick Steves you have created a tour that highlights what makes Paris so special. This was my 11th tour and I enjoyed our superb guide, friendly tourmates and the lovely hotel in the convenient 7th arr. Everyday Paris offered up presents as we learned to use our Metro passes, savored delicious meals & used polite French phrases.This tour was a Christmas present to myself!

"As usual, there were many Wow moments but seeing Norte Dame and the progress being made on its reconstruction was very emotional. Seeing the stained glass windows of Sainte-Chappelle once again and our Seine River boat cruise when we saw the Eiffel Tower lights twinkle twice, at 8 and then 9 pm, I learned how to become a flaneur or flâneuse (feminine) or the art of wandering to discover oneself in a beautiful and interesting place. Paris is my favorite city in Europe!"

The tour was well managed and thorough. The hotel was comfortable and welcoming. They had a lovely living room where tour members could hang out together. Make no mistake about how physical this tour is. It was fast paced and required lots of walking with very little time for rest breaks. Our tour guide was exceptionally good. She knew the city and gave us interesting commentary throughout. She is a fabulous ambassador for the Rick Steves organization.

"I am a sucker for art and history. I enjoyed seeing the fabulous art and architecture. I got goose bumps when I saw the Eiffel Tour and the Arc de Triomphe. I warmed my heart to see how much progress they are making rebuilding Notre Dame Cathedral."

Excellent experience! It was my first time in Paris/ Europe. The itinerary hit all the major attractions. We also have an excellent guide who is both passionate and knowledgeable about the city. 10/10 highly recommend it!

The tour was outstanding. It was our first trip to Paris and we left feeling like we saw everything. Our guide was exceptional -- she added so much context and insight into each aspect of the tour. The hotel and their staff were equally wonderful. I think there is a distinction between being a tourist and a traveler and being on a Rick Steves tour teaches you how to be traveler. We felt immersed in a new experience and loved it.

There are too many humans on Earth. And, very selfishly, apparently too many of them have the time and money to travel. I found the crush of humanity at museums, palaces, city streets, transportation, overwhelming. Of the three Rick Steves' tours we have been on, I most enjoyed the one that was primarily about experiencing a country's culture, geography, etc - Ireland (contrasted to "bucket list" Paris and Venice/Florence/Rome). Virginie's insight into French life was the highlight!!

"Versailles! I was resolved that I would not allocate too much personal approval to the excesses of The Sun King - Versailles, after all, is what happens when one spends lots and lots of (tax) money. The beauty of the palace (in addition to its scale), however, is undeniable and thus became a wow moment. "

Looking back over the week, we started with learning about the daily life of the Parisiennes, with background knowledge built up for us during walking tours of the city regions well known for their effect upon history. This was followed with museum visits, led by local experts in each area whose storytelling history presentations pulled everything we had experienced together for us.

"We found our tour hostess, Rolinka, to be a guide who is well versed on the life and history of Paris, a story teller who was also adept at keeping a group moving through public transportation. She wove our travels with information that was always engaging. This was our wow moment: when all of the information shared brought the city to life for us."

It was great. The hotel was nice, comfortable and friendly staff with great location. The group activities were well chosen and layered nicely. The individual time was great to see things I wanted that weren’t on the tour agenda. Giving us metro and museum passes, and teaching us how to use Paris public transportation helped us make the most efficient and affordable use of our time.

My last Rick Steve's tour was a multi-city bus tour with a different hotel every few nights, so I appreciated staying in the same hotel while in Paris. Rolinka was the best tour guide! With precision, she made certain we mastered the metro so we could travel around the city with ease when we were not with the tour group. This tour hits all the wonders of Paris and also shows the sweet, calmer sides, like Rue Cler. The group dinners were spectacular!

Arnaud Servignat is a terrific guide. He made the tour with his extensive knowledge and ability to provide a background on Paris's history. The local guides were also outstanding, especially those who took us through the Orsay museum. The Hotel Londres Eiffel was perfect. The welcoming staff and comfortable rooms were all a respite after a long day of walking. It was nice to have time off to do what we wanted whether shopping or seeing more sites. The group we were with were all engaged.

This was our 5th RS tour and 1st city tour. Our guide, Arnaud, was great. Although it rained frequently during our tour, he kept our spirits up and did an excellent job of introducing Paris to us and educating us about the region's history. Thanks to Arnaud and the outstanding local guides, we learned enough about today's Paris to feel comfortable staying in the city for several extra days after the tour. We felt like masters of the Metro.

"One of the main goals of our trip was to immerse ourselves in fine art. For me, seeing Vermeer's "The Astronomer" and di Vinci's "Mona Lisa" in the Louvre and Monet's "La Pie" in the Orsay were my "wow" moments on the tour."

Our guide, Arnaut, was a great source of information, fun to listen to, & helpful - as were all the local guides.The hotel was one of the nicest I've ever stayed at, with a terrific staff. The tour covered everything I expected it to & then some. However, it turns out that a single city tour, without wine tastings, pasta making, and down time with the group is less to my liking than RS's "traveling" tours we've taken in the past. One more point to consider when choosing the next tour.

The tour surpassed my already high expectations of a Rick Steves' tour! Our guide was fantastic - super knowledgeable and always concerned about our safety and experience. Guides that she called upon were also top notch in their knowledge and guiding capability. We not only toured Paris together, we were taught how to navigate Paris ourselves which helped us take advantage of our free time.

Rick Steves tours are not for everyone and he freely admits this in the literature. But if you’re fit enough to keep up, you’ll get the real thing. The guides are truly the best! I could go on and on about our experiences with them but let’s just say when people really enjoy what they’re doing, it's contagious.

"That’s a tough question, there were so many. Seeing Van Gogh’s original artwork. Finding Jim Morrison. Walking up to the Mona Lisa. Riding the subways of Paris for the first time on our own. How about the rebuilding of Norte Dame. But probably the most fun was having lunch at an outside restaurant on Montmartre by ourselves just watching the day go by. An accordion player was playing on the street next to where we were seated. Our view looked over Paris. Pretty awesome. "

Our guide was caring, knowledgeable, organized, and wanted to make sure everyone's experience was the best it could be. The chosen activities/attractions were great, with the exception of the Louvre museum. I feel it can either be removed from the itinerary or a guide within the museum should be hired. It is so busy and huge in the Louvre that I felt rushed on my own. I like the perks the guide chose with her available budget.

I greatly enjoyed the tour. The tour guide was helpful and well informed.I also enjoyed the group of people on the tour.I did have concerns about how the logistics of the tour were handled. The tour guide lead us to the sites and guided us through the tour. However, we were left to navigate our way back to the hotel on our own. While directions were provided, it was overwhelming, particularly initially to navigate our way via metro when it was completely unfamiliar to us.

This tour was amazing. My wife and I had the best time. We are in our 30’s and most of our tour mates were in their 50’s and 60’s, the age gap did matter at all. Everyone was super welcoming and our guide was the best part of the trip.

A perfect blend of group and solo adventures, where we visited every item on our itinerary. We skipped long lines to get into very popular sites, and enjoyed three traditional French dinners together in local restaurants. Our charming centrally located hotel made for easy commutes.

Our tour guide, Nicco, was fantastic!!!!!!!! He's funny, super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, a great problem solver (there was a popup strike on the day of our visit to the Louvre).
